The New Look Hyundai Verna Fluidic Car

Image result for verna

The new Hyundai Verna fluidic has sure come a long way from its predecessors. This latest Verna is the seventh avatar and is totally different from the rest of the pack. The chassis is seriously stronger and has been made in stringent accordance with the European and US standards.

This new look Verna has a sporty fluid sculpt that gives it the name. The fluid shape is a combination of sharp sculpting and crease patterns on the exterior. The inside of the car is not as impressive as the outside but has a decent looking dashboard. The gear transmission flows smoothly and the high end model will have a fully auto transmission. The storage space though could have been spared a bit of space.

The seats are out right comfortable and there is enough space for the legs including at the back. The seats are a bit too low and this kind of hinges the thigh support. Even corner of the seats are rounded off with stuffing adding to lack of thigh space. In spite of the huge leg room the journey is not as comfortable because of the lack of thigh support.

The Verna will be available in petrol and diesel version. The engines however will be different from the previous editions. The Verna will sport Gamma petrol and U2 diesel motors. The petrol will be of 1.4 litre capacity while the diesel will be of 1.6 litre capacity. The diesel beats the petrol hands down with a horse power for 126.

The Verna Gamma petrol motor comes with sixteen valves with continuous variable valve timing. This ensures that there is a healthy output of power and torque.

The petrol engines with auto gear option come to idle pretty quietly. The initial pick up also is pretty nippy for an auto gear. Engine response at low revs is pretty good. If you step on the gas the Gamma engine fades quite quickly. The medium range speed is adequate but at high speeds, the motor struggles to keep up with the paces and starts to rattle and feels strained.

The suspension hardly gets tested on the long, smooth and arrow straight roads. Even the steering is at pretty ease and does not need much handling. The Verna has a good presence and the long wheelbase gave it a composure that promises to make it a good long distance cruiser. The strong crosswinds can unsettle the car. Its true test though will be on Indian roads though. The steering is quite light but still had pretty good feel around the centre position but it does not weight up consistently and at times feels disconnected from the road. This should not bother typical owners who will be looking for an effortless steering and light controls for an easy commute.

The new Verna is miles ahead of its predecessor, blends practicality, quality and value in a package that is more up market and stylish than before and is good enough to disrupt the established order of the City and Vento.

Hyundai Elantra Diesel Review Price and Specifications

Image result for hyundai elantra
Hyundai Elantra Diesel at Rs 15.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) with a diesel engine and an automatic transmission is the most expensive variant of the Elantra. However it also lives upto this high price tag with arguably some of the best features.

Image result for hyundai elantra engine

The new diesel engine delivers 126bhp with a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel ripped off from the Hyundai Verna. The six-speed, torque-converter automatic gearbox comes off quite well in terms of the performance and torque. If you are not in a hurry, you can really see that the gearbox works well enough to keep you in the right gear at all speeds. The Elantra is quite peppy and even the half presses on the throttle gives you that adrenaline rush. However beware of the slight hesitation from either the engine or gearbox in stop-start traffic and a bit of power crisis on the highway.

Image result for hyundai elantra interior
However once you hit the throttle down, you come to know that all is not well with this diesel power train. The power delivery is not all that smooth and the engine starts to rattle at 2000rpm. The gearbox stutters to this sudden outburst of power and does not respond the way you want it to. Compared to the dual-clutch gearboxes of the Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Laura this comes as a bit of a cropper.

However as a huge relief, you can the shift gears manually in tiptronic mode for better control, but you have to manage without the paddle shifters. With a slow mark of 10.92 seconds to hit the 0-100kph time it is a full 1.2 seconds off the Skoda Laura automatic.

Overall, the Hyundai Elantra is good for those who want to enjoy their rides. Not to forget the overly-assisted power steering, well-finished cabin and rear seats. Good to drive in traffic, fairly fuel efficient with 11.2kpl in the city, and packed with features, this version of the Elantra meets the needs of most self-driven executive car buyers. If you are not in awe of the Elantra you can also consider the likes of Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla Altis.

Hyundai Eon Car Secrets Revealed

Image result for hyundai eon

Hyundai Eon brochure has been leaked and from the looks of it, in this diwali season we could well be in for a big dhamaka with the likes of Maruti Alto F8D and the K10. The Maruti Alto has been ruling the sales charts for quite some time now in the Indian market with sales of over 20,000 units every month until now.

The Alto’s combo of reliability, cost efficiency, good mileage, a simple design and Maruti’s expertise dealership network across the entire country has been able to give tremendous reach in sales and service. Times do change and this time Hyundai Eon is all set to stir up the storm.

Considering Hyundai India manages to get the pricing of the Eon just right with market speculations being around price tag of 2.5 Lakh for entry level Eon, the Alto could very well have met its nemesis.

The Hyundai Eon gets its cuts and curvy exterior design from the Hyundai’s Fluidic design philosophy that seems to be the in vogue fashion these days with the company and also the fluid design looks much more contemporary than that of the aging Maruti Alto.

The Interiors are way ahead of its other contemporaries at least that is what we get from the latest leaks. The best part also flows onto the mileage of the car which is also more efficient than the Alto in terms of the road run. The ARAI certifies the Hyundai Eon’s mileage at 21.1 KMPL.

The best part just does not seem to end here. The car also has an 814 cc three cylinder petrol engine with a maximum of 55 bhp and 76.5 Nm of top torque. These figures easily surpass the Alto by 15% on paper as of now. The Hyundai Eon is expected to be just priced below the Hyundai Santro Xing.

So what is in favour of the Maruti? The only cause of concern for the Hyundai would be to replicate or even come close to the huge network of Maruti sales and service outlets in India. Maruti’s thirty year dominance still does have a few tricks up its sleeve.

Hyundai has recently been making some inroads into the tier 2 and 3 cities of India and town with standalone dealerships for selling entry level cars like the Hyundai Eon and the Santro Xing.

It all comes down to the actual sales and services and will finally decide who is the winner in the Maruti Suzuki versus Hyundai battle? The dhamaka is all set to begin on the October 13th, 2011, when the Hyundai Eon will be launched in India.

Hyundai Eon Car to Hit the Indian Markets Ahead of Diwali

Image result for HYUNDAI EON

Hyundai Eon is ready for a no holds barred contest against some of the best sellers like the Maruti Suzuki Alto. The small car is expected to be priced at below Rs. 3 lakh. The car is expected to surprise the audience with the launch speculated to be ahead of Diwali from the 10th of October to 15th of October. To be more precise the car is expected to be available at a price of 2.5 lakhs.

The Eon will be an entry level variant in the compact car segment. It is expected to be a spacious car as well with large leg space. The car is equipped with an 814 cc engine with a mileage of over 20 km per litre.

Inspired from the Santro platform the Eon is expected to have a lot parts from the Santro as well as the i10. Apart from Hyundai even other car makers are expected to pitch in with their small cars. The Tata Motors is expected to come with an advanced version of the Nano and the Indica. Volkswagen’s UP! has also made its intentions clear by making its debut at the world auto show in Germany. Ford buoyed by the success of the Figo is also expected to come up with another compact car which will be priced below the Figo.

The auto sales seem to have been a bit sluggish with rising interest rates and fuel prices. This phenomenon though seems to have little effect on the sales of small cars which are still going very strong.

“There is no car that is comparable with Eon. Yes, it is an entry-level car but with no compromise. It is a very spacious car with a large boot – something that you get only in bigger cars. And most importantly it doesn’t compromise on style,” said Arvind Saxena, Hyundai India sales & marketing director.

The Hyundai Eon dimensions are expected to be 75mm wider and 40mm taller than the Alto, while being similar in length at 3.5 meters.

Hyundai Eon Car to Stay on the Roads for a Long Time to Come

Image result for eon hyundai

Hyundai Eon pegged at an entry price of Rs 2.5 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) will be exclusively made in India. The car will come in both manual and auto gear option as well. From the first looks we can tell you that the Hyundai Eon is going to stay on the roads for a long time to come.

Initially the Hyundai Eon was kept under the wraps with the codename HA. The Hyundai Eon is expected to battle with other small cars like the Maruti Alto and the Maruti A-Star and is all set to dethrone Maruti as the market leader in the small car segment. The car looks neatly done with utmost care taken even for the minute details. The Eon certainly has the looks to keep your eyes gazed on it for quite some time. The Hyundai Eon too also embodies the modern fluidic styling and gives it all the characteristics of a low cost car. The wheel arches and shoulder line are all quite intriguing for a small car and don’t be surprised if you ever come up across something similar to the Eon only in the likes of Mercedes-Benz CLS. The front fiasco has a shade of the Hyundai’s hexagonal grille up front and eye catchy floodlights with the chrome.

“New car launches are determined on the basis of the long-term outlook on a market. Our outlook on the Indian market in the medium and long-term is very positive. We want to address the Indian customer with regular product launches,” Hyundai director (marketing & sales) Arvind Saxena said. “Eon is the best bet for Hyundai to increase sales after relatively sound success of its smaller cars like Santro,” said a Mumbai-based auto analyst.

The wheelbase is similar to the likes of other small car contemporaries with measurement of 2380mm. However it is on the shorter side compared to the Santro and light in weight as well. The steel has been craftily used with altering thickness making the Eon both Stubborn and nippy in weight. The car is only a meager 715-795kg taking it to the likes of Maruti’s Alto, which is saying something. The interior of the car shares the credit with the well knitted out i10, and is cleverly arranged with little shelves and cubbyholes. The car is bolstered with enough features like a CD player, USB audio, remote locking, a shift indicator on the dash and tilt steering.

The windscreen is on the steeper side and shorter as well. This makes the space availability come at a premium. The congestion is further increased by the boot space which is best in its class with a capacity of up to 215 litres of luggage. This means that if the driver at the front is tall then the passenger at the rear will be short of space.

You will have some relief as there is some space to place your feet under the front seats as the front seats are erect and upright. With a decent thigh support and head space, it is not all that bad. The best place to be though is the driver’s end with a humungous space.

The Eon has a three-cylinder copy of the Santro IRDE engine. With 814cc and 56bhp you will have something left to rev it up. The refinement of the three-cylinder falls short of expectations as there seems to be considerable amount of vibration at idle. The engine even rattles at times but does seem to respond on higher rpms. In the mid range the car seems to have the entire world under its control and will most probably ease you through any city terrains.

Hyundai Eon Car Price Review and Specifications

The small cars from Hyundai always seem to hog the big lime lights. From the Santro to the i20 they have all had their share of the success. Hyundai is now ready to move to the next level to even replace the likes of the Santro with agent HA. Hyundai Eon had been earlier codenamed as HA. The car is expected to hit the roads by the second week of October.

The car is expected to carry the next design legacy of the “Hyundai Fluidic Concept”. In terms of cost the car has come up trumps with just under 3 lacs. The headlamps to the grille, all are reminders of the new Hyundai design concept. The side looks though would give you a familiar feeling with some similarity to the merc cars. The car seems to have hit all the right nodes in terms of the looks.

The car has been trimmed in the right areas with no extra length or space. The wheel base of the car is shorter when compared to the Santro. The wheelbase stands at a measurement of 2380 mm and so it might not stand up to the tall boy looks and space of the Santro. The interiors would be some what similar to the likes of the Nano. The inside of the car is surely more premium compared to the Nano both in terms of the quality of equipments and the upholstery. Even other competitors like the Alto, Spark and A-Star would only be a pale shadow compared to the Eon. The entertainment is taken care by a standard CD player with other assorted items in the high end versions. The cubby holes in the Hyundai Eon more than makes up for the lack of space. The leg space is one of best in class with a capacity of up to 218 litres.

The chassis is like the one in the i10. This means that the driver experience and the performance of the car will also be up to the level of the i10. The visibility on the road could be a problem towards the rear as the steeply raked in column reduces the visibility to near zero. This could probably be a well thought out plan to promote the rear parking sensors as accessories for this car.

The Hyundai Eon has the same engine from the Santro with a maximum power of up to 56 bhp. The car is expected to come with a five speed manual transmission gear shift. As per ARAI reports the car has a petrol thirst at every 21 kms. The icing on the cake would be the price factor with Hyundai Eon being just under the price of 2.75 lakhs for the base variant it could sure be a car to watch out for.

Powered by a small 814cc petrol engine the exterior dimensions of Hyundai Eon are 3495 mm X 1625 mm X 1535 mm (L X B X H).The 3 cylinder 814cc engine of Eon generates 54 bhp and 76.5 Nm torque which is quite powerful. It also includes power steering, power windows for the front, and airbag for the driver. ABS is not installed. The size of the tires will be 155/70.
